NYLON
TOKEN only uses the best quality Nylon currently available on the market today, whether it is the ultra-durable and light 1000D CORDURA® Classic fabric, or a more heavy-duty and water-resistant version for travel use called CORDURA® Ballistic fabric. Originally developed by the DuPont corporation for military use, CORDURA® fabrics have now become the gold standard for performance workwear, luggage, footwear, and military uniforms.
CORDURA® Ballistic Fabric is a thick water-resistant nylon was initially developed for "flak-jackets" to keep the military men safe from flying shrapnel. Our ballistic nylon is made of 1680-denier fabric, one of the toughest fabrics in the world, and suitable for the most demanding environments.
WAXED CANVAS
The Original Wax™ we use is an authentic American product that has stood the test of time and has outfitted American workers, farmers, explorers, and outdoorsmen for over a century. The Waxed Canvas we use is a cotton-based fabric treated with Martexin® wax proprietary mixture, a unique formula that gives the fabric lifelong resistance to inclement weather, while cotton fibers allow it to breathe. As the fabric ages, it develops a well-worn and comfortable patina, which will enhance the look of your bags over time.
LEATHER
TOKEN uses premium aniline leather, well-known for being both soft and Supple, from the US. Only the world’s top 5% of leathers fall in this category and is commonly referred to as A grade leather. We work closely with the tanneries and factory where every piece is fashioned by experienced leather artisans.
ENAMEL / VINYL
The TOKEN bags from our Enamel and Vinyl collection are made from high gloss waterproof fabric that is as easy to clean as it is on the eye. All of our Enamel and Vinyl bags feature durable nylon bodies and contrasting front panels to make them stand out. The TOKEN Vinyl bags are built to keep your stuff dry and safe while you are on the move.
MANUFACTURING
While several bag components we use are made in the USA (Waxwear Fabric, Cordura yarns from Invista and A Grade Leather), most of our production facilities are located in Taiwan.
We visit our Taiwanese factories on a regular basis to ensure superior quality, detailed craftsmanship and ethical working conditions. Like our hard working staff in New York, our factories in Taiwan employ teams of hardworking and experienced craftspeople who earn better living wages than other factories located in Southeast Asia.
We design our entire line of bags in New York City, and regardless of where TOKEN bags are manufactured we are committed to maintaining the quality and integrity of our products.
